Algorithmic Override

LinkedIn Post 9: Algorithmic Override
Hook: "Can you override your AI building system? If you can't, you have a problem."
Emergency egress must not depend on an AI system. Full stop.
But here's what's actually happening in many facilities: AI controls egress doors. Humans must explicitly trigger override. If that override process fails, people can't exit.
That's not just a technical problem. That's a breach of your non-negotiable duty under the Occupiers' Liability Act.
Preliminary analysis suggests that any emergency egress system requiring algorithmic mediation (rather than providing algorithmic enhancement) exposes you to immediate liability.
Requirements:
Manual overrides on every AI-controlled door on an egress route
Fail-safe defaults (unlock on power loss, network failure, or alarm signal)
Regular testing of override procedures
Documented audit logs of all overrides
Insight: Emergency egress can't be automated. It can only be enhanced by automation.
CTA: Can occupants manually override every AI-controlled door between their location and a safe exit?
