LinkedIn Post 13: Building the Attribution Dashboard
You're adding a second AI vendor to your building.
Your first vendor already optimizes HVAC. The new vendor will handle lighting.
Before you sign the contract, establish an attribution framework:
1. Define standardized metrics all vendors report against:
Total building energy (kWh)
Peak demand (kW)
Equipment downtime (hours)
Occupancy satisfaction (if measurable)
Cost per square foot
2. Establish baseline: 90 days of building performance before the second vendor goes live.
3. Deploy second vendor. Monitor for 30 days.
4. When you add a third vendor (predictive maintenance), repeat: baseline, deploy, monitor.
5. Build a dashboard showing all vendor metrics and building-level KPIs.
6. When performance changes, you have the data to isolate which vendor caused it.
This attribution infrastructure prevents the "five vendors, zero accountability" problem.
Build it now, before multi-vendor chaos becomes your reality.
