LinkedIn Post 8: Insurance Exposure

Hook: "Your insurer will ask: 'How do you govern your AI building systems?'"

Public liability insurers are beginning to recognize that AI-mediated building management creates a new risk category. As claims start surfacing (and they will), insurers will demand evidence of governance.

Can you provide:

  • Documentation of algorithmic decision logic?

  • Audit trails of access denials and overrides?

  • Evidence of human review checkpoints?

  • Occupant consent and transparency records?

  • Emergency egress independence verification?

Facility operators who answer "no" to these questions will soon find themselves denied coverage or facing premium increases.

Preliminary analysis suggests that governance of AI building systems will become a standard insurance requirement within 12-24 months.

Insight: It's cheaper and easier to implement governance now than to retrofit it after an insurer demands it.
