Post 14: The Missing Voices

Think about the AI systems you use daily.

Who was in the room when the core design decisions were made?

Engineers? Usually. Product managers? Definitely. Designers? Yes.

Disabled people? Neurodivergent people? People from marginalized racial and ethnic communities? People experiencing poverty?

In most organizations: not in that core decision-making room.

And it shows. Because the people who understand barriers the most intimately are not the people deciding what to build.

Genuine inclusion requires centering the knowledge of people who navigate systems as disabled, neurodivergent, marginalized people. Not as consultants. As core team members with decision-making authority.

Who's missing from your decision-making table?
