LinkedIn Post 03: Proxy vs Reality
An AI model says: "This project will provide income benefit to 200 people. Estimated total annual earnings: £4.2m."
What actually happens: 150 people get jobs. Average wage: £16,500. Total earnings: £2.5m.
The model measured estimated earnings. Reality delivered actual earnings. The gap is material.
Current systems treat these as equivalent. SVGA-OUTCOME insists on difference: We measure what actually improves community wellbeing, not proxies that correlate with it.
Job placements → Job persistence.
Projected income → Actual wages.
Demographic proximity → Lived experience of access.
Honest measurement. That's the foundation.
