Regulatory Horizon

LinkedIn Post 12: Regulatory Horizon

Hook: "Regulators are beginning to ask questions about AI in workplaces."

Health and safety regulators, employment authorities, and data protection regulators are all starting to scrutinize AI systems in workplace environments.

The questions they'll ask:

  • How does your AI system make decisions affecting occupants?

  • What's the audit trail? Can you demonstrate error rates?

  • Do occupants have appeal mechanisms?

  • Is emergency egress independent from algorithmic control?

  • What's your governance framework?

Facilities that have documented, systematic governance frameworks will pass regulatory scrutiny. Facilities that reply "we just trust the algorithm" will not.

Preliminary analysis suggests that formal governance of AI building systems will transition from "best practice" to "regulatory requirement" within 18-36 months.

Insight: Early adopters of governance frameworks build credibility with regulators.

CTA: Is your facility prepared for regulatory scrutiny of its AI systems?
