Introducing CBGA

LinkedIn Post 07: Introducing CBGA

We've spent months researching governance gaps in AI-driven building decarbonisation. We've interviewed sustainability teams, energy managers, and compliance officers. We've audited real decarbonisation programmes.

The consistent pattern: AI systems are optimised for efficiency, not for compliance.

They defer high-impact interventions. They hide non-compliance in portfolio averages. They plan on short horizons that misalign with five-year statutory budgets.

This isn't a technology problem. Technology is fine. The problem is governance.

So we're introducing CBGA: the Carbon Budget Governance Architecture. Five modules designed to align AI systems with statutory carbon budget obligations.

CBGA-OBJECTIVE: Make objectives carbon-first, not cost-first.

CBGA-SEQUENCE: Enforce deep retrofit priority.

CBGA-DISAGGREGATE: Report building-level outcomes.

CBGA-BASELINE: Lock baselines externally verified.

CBGA-HORIZON: Align planning with budget periods.

This is the future of responsible AI in decarbonisation. Not smarter algorithms. Governed systems.

More details coming soon.
