Theme: Data centers hosting the world's most sensitive data, governed by autonomous AI systems with no governance framework

Post
Data centers are the most governed physical spaces in technology. SOC 2. ISO 27001. HIPAA. PCI-DSS. FISMA High.
They're also deploying autonomous AI systems with almost no AI governance framework.
Here's the paradox. A hyperscale cloud customer demands 99.999% uptime, auditable access controls, and full compliance documentation before they'll place a single rack in your facility. But the autonomous cooling system that prevents their servers from overheating? The energy optimization algorithm that decides when to shift loads between facilities? The predictive maintenance AI that determines which systems get serviced first?
Those systems make thousands of autonomous decisions per day. And nobody audits them.
When I track the building AI vendors serving the data center sector, the governance gap is striking. These facilities have the most rigorous compliance infrastructure in commercial real estate — and the least governance over the autonomous systems making operational decisions inside them.
The customers are starting to notice. I'm seeing RFPs that now include a section on "AI governance and algorithmic transparency." The first data center operator to build a comprehensive, auditable governance framework for their autonomous building systems won't just satisfy a compliance requirement. They'll unlock a competitive advantage that's worth more than another megawatt of capacity.
Governance isn't a cost center. In data centers, it's a revenue accelerator.

Word count: ~220
Hook: Most governed physical spaces, least governed AI systems
Proof point: SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FISMA High — all exist for data, none for the AI running the building
New angle: Data center governance paradox — compliance-rich environment with AI governance void
Engagement question: Implicit — who audits the autonomous building systems?
